Version 20020710 of the free Windows implementation Wine has been released; changes include:

  • DirectSound 8 and DirectInput 8 support
  • OLE improvements
  • support for font downloading in Postscript driver
  • ALSA sound driver
  • portability fixes
  • bug fixes

    Well, whether I like Wine or not, it’s here. Since it’s doesn’t seem to be going away, I’m sure glad they finally made an ALSA driver.

    Remember that wine allows you to play the oh-my-god-its-so-good Warcraft3.
    In a better way than WineX. GPL Rules. Long live well-programmed games.

    does the main wine tree have the same kind of 3d support that comes from winex?
