ALSA 0.9.0rc2
June 29th, 2002 by AlkiniVersion 0.9.0rc2 of the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture has been released; changes include:
- new drivers (Hammerfaull H-DSP & USB audio driver)
- changes for 2.5 kernel
- added 64bit integer support to the control API
- bugfixes

Just a call out to all the game dev’s out there currently using OSS as their main audio API: please consider adding the option of using ALSA. It has a great API, and it’s feature list is growing steadily. It’s made it into kernel 2.5, which means it’s userbase will be greatly expanding in the (relatively) near future.
It shouldn’t have a problem replacing OSS as the standard if the developers give people the option to use it. Please help!
