Well regardless of how one feels about winex what really is important is getting these gaming companies to realize that there is a market, there is interest, and that there are people who dont think the sun sets in Bill Gates shorts. On the plus side, if they make the linux version a download they can determine how many people really want to use their software under Linux. So maybe future games will have more attention paid to releasing Linux verions.

Just in reading between the lines here.. I don't think the Gold is very golden. I don't think the thing is tested. The betacycle was rediculously short, and then the promise of shipping binaries besides winblowz vanished. I think this a typical, "Oh crap, we're out of money." move by the publisher. Product be damned, ship it.

I'm going to wait a bit. And lets not forget where this leaves our friendly tuxgames.com forumer's. They're left out to dry until this thing is actually made. Waters wet, the sky's blue, and publishers lie. Not new, but I expected them to hold their wad for this game. Too many 3-minute Johnny's over their.. Times like this, I'm glad I don't program.

I won't buy this until TuxGames is shipping it. It's a bit disappointing that the GNU/Linux client and server won't be included in the box, but I'm still happy they're supporting GNU/Linux. They certainly don't have to and I believe we should be appreciative of that.

With that said, I'm going to ensure my purchase is recorded as a GNU/Linux sale and support a GNU/Linux merchant by waiting for TuxGames to begin shipping this game. I strongly encourage you to do the same.

I'm sick of being told that we linux gamers don't exist, or that we refuse to pay for anything. I'm also sick of people acting like they deserve anything they want just the way they want it.

I'll be buying Neverwinter Nights because it runs on Linux, simple as that. I'll do so gladly no matter what's involved, just as I did with Unreal Tournament. If I can find some way to run the module building tools on Linux, I'll put up a server and support the Neverwinter Nights community that way.

I'm very thankful for BioWare's support, and by bringing another AAA title to Linux despite Loki's blowout, they deserve our support. Let's knock off the whingeing a bit, eh?

... we're blessed that they're releasing a native Linux version at all.

So please stop with the whining. I'm going to show my support for native Linux gaming with cold hard cash (once the Linux client is released, of course).

Kudos to Bioware. It's not like game developers are so idle that they are twiddling their thumbs looking for obscure marginal platforms to spend TIME AND MONEY porting to just to piss off people who want the moon on a stick. Covered in chocolate.
