(WineX) Reviews @ [LnX] Games

May 29th, 2002 by Alkini

Martijn from [LnX] Games wrote in to announce a few reviews that they have posted:

I would like to let you know that we have a review of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast online, together with some WineX 2.01 pages…

The review covers the game, playability, graphics and engine-integration, plus includes a separate page with instructions on how to make JKII work on your Linux box.

The WineX-pages cover WineX, with a short historyline, current usability plus installation-instructions and -caveats.

You can find the JK2 review at: www.penguinpower.nl/pcontent/jediknight.php
WineX at: www.penguinpower.nl/pcontent/winex.php

These pages are, as most of the content on [LnX] Games, written in the Dutch language (from the Netherlands, that is ;-).

I know, I know, let’s play q3 engine games with winex!
    Sof2! JK2!

Can’t wait for the first Doom3 engine licensee to write something i can play in winex.

I’m sure I’d be more pissed and more sarcastic but I can’t read dutch.

I noticed that the single player game of Jedi Knight II uses OpenAL. Has anyone got it to work under wine/winex with the linux native OpenAL library?

I think iD Licensees should be required to have Mac/Linux binaries available… I mean, Carmack’s code is _very_ portable, so even modified engines should be able to be ported with just a recompile on each platform.
