February 25th, 2002 by michaelNumerous folks alerted us to the release of Candy Cruncher for Linux. Candy Cruncher is a puzzle game from Pyrogon, founded by former id programmer Brian Hook. They’ve released a demo, and Candy Cruncher can also be purchased on-line for $14.95.

Why don’t they call the file .sh so regular Mr. Joe’s doesn’t have to do chmod +x on the file.

The game is fun, the graphics and sounds are very cool (although the music doesn’t have enough variety, what’s there is very well done). Worth $15.
I do see that the game seems to be pegging the CPU at 100% utilization or thereabouts, with the time split between X and candycruncher. Looks like there is some optimization to be done in the Linux version still.
