Sony Solicits US PS2/Linux Opinion
July 24th, 2001 by michaelJason Cragg wrote in to note that Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is soliciting public opinion on releasing their Linux distribution for the Playstation 2 in the US. It is currently only available for the Japanese Playstation 2.

Anyone know if PS2 Linux source is available? I’d like to know if their gcc, glibc, XFree86, and kernel changes are available. That way when the PS2 is my primary web surfing tool in 3 years I can count on the platform still being supported. ;^D

Am I the only one creeped out by those “Gary Coleman Confidential” UGO adverts? (puts hands over eyes)

I hope that Sony will make it available also in Europe… there are a lot of people here interested in that!
