NVIDIA/RedHat HOWTO

July 19th, 2001 by Crusader

The venerable Avatar ofevil3D.net let us know that they’veposted a new HOWTO:

Over the past few months, evil3D.net has gotten a lot of “WTF??” type questions when it comes to installing the NVIDIAdrivers on Red Hat 7.1 with a non-Intel based motherboard. Subsequently, we have put together this HOWTO for installingthe drivers. We will cover both Intel and non-Intel chipsets here, just so everyone can use the same HOWTO.

    I don’t understand why/HOW people can use Redhat…
    It’s, so, BAD!
    And the fact that the, 2 CD install of the “free” redhat does not come with GCC!!!
    WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!
    Jesus, try Slackware, or for you people without a clue, Debain…

    Sorry for being a Troll today.
    But it’s just that Redhat is _THAT_ bad.
    I must speak out for my own people.
    Redhat != linux anymore!
    WE ARE KICKING OUT REDHAT!

    The Troll is right, Redhat is truely awful.

    It’s still Linux… but not a very good release… I hate how people base their thoughts of linux on redhat.. it is truely a shame to have the shortcommings of others refect on the greatness of the few…

    These thread replies show how truely uninformed you people are… did he say he was any l33t3r for using slackware..?? Hellll No…. It’s what most of us started with.. therefore it is what we use to date… Oh yes, and it also ships with GCC… oh… and no CVS releases of it have shipped with Slackware either.

    /me laughs at the dork with the Red Hat… (No offence Mr. Cox)
