Rune Shipping Next Week; Pre-Order With Mindrover
June 14th, 2001 by TimeDoctorLoki’s Linux port of Human Head’s Rune, the Unreal Tournament-engine based third-person melee combat game with a Viking atmosphere, will be shipping on June 20th. It will also be available in a bundle with Loki’s recently released MindRover for $44.95 US via a pre-order. Also of note: the new Rune co-op modification can be installed with the Linux version using Umodpack.

This is good news indeed! It’s a great time to be a Linux gamer, what with the spate of new games being released by Loki, and Linux games from other publishers. Plus, since I still have some unplayed Loki titles, I’m not going to be booting to Windows to play games for a good long time. :) Just gotta get a bigger hard drive, dammit. My 4-gig drive just won’t do anymore.

I’ve got one hell of a stack of loki games on my desk now. With these 3 I have a copy of every game they’ve released/supported. Hey loki, I’ve got a neat idea. I noticed that you’ve moved to DVD type cases. Don’t suppose you could have some of your graphics people release new slide in art for the old games? People could just download the .tiff’s and get some nice photopaper and voila! This way we could put all our loki titles in one dvd shelf.
