they only let you order via the internet and the EB at my local mall never has these games in stock. I would like to remain semi-anonymous by purchasing a game and that just isn’t possible now-a-days isn’t it?

Interesting, I ordered SC3K on Friday and at the time it said it was available for shipping within 24 hours. Now it does indeed say Back Order.
Should I really believe I got lucky and got the last one? Nah…

If you notice at the top of the order page (for either SC3K ( http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/products/product.asp?pf_id=178034&mscssid=&ref=1&PromoCode=” ) or SF2 ( http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/products/product.asp?pf_id=181434&mscssid=&ref=1&PromoCode=” ) there’s the title (“So and So for Linux”) and right next to it is… the MS Windows logo.
Oops. :-)

I didn’t even know EBGames carried Linux games. Now if only they sold them at retail, but that maybe hoping a little much.

How can they sell these games for only $9.99? Does it still support Loki the same amount as purchasing them for regular price? Is Loki selling mass quantities to EB for very low prices? Strange.

Unless you sell mass quantities of something (to get bulk processing prices) you lose money when you sell stuff this cheap. Maybe EB is trying to spark interest in the market but I didn’t think Linux had much of a market. Quake 3 should sell well though because the Windows version is still $30 on their site and you can use the point release to turn one version into another. It gives me a chance to pick up some of the games I never got around to getting though. Cool!

For what it’s worth, Amazon.com has also discounted a number of their Loki games to these same prices ($9.99). They don’t have as many at that low price, but they do have a handful. Old games get discounted. Happens all the time.
