  • Hampton Maxwell pointed outa petition askingNVIDIA to port their drivers toFreeBSD.

  • Norbert Drage sent in a new revision ofhis proposalto Blizzard Entertainment requesting that a Linux version ofDiablo 2 be developed and released. Norbertstates:
I need anyone with a technical/knowledge/general information about SDL andits usefulness in porting Windows-only games over to other operatingsystems. Once we get that, a lot of the proposal will probably get cut backand then it should be ready to post and inform Blizzard of.

I heard that Blizzard didn’t want to port their games because of poor sales. Last I heard that SMAC as got a lot of sales and places like Tuxgames are doing game on sales. I know that figures for games being sold in Linux have shot up. Let along 2504 sign the petitions on Tuxgames… Blizzard needs to stop holding back and port there game.

    I’m waiting Blizzard… We all are. =)

Not that it wouldn’t be nice to have nice drivers on every OS but there is about zero reasons for nvidia to port their drivers to freebsd. Besides, if freebsd becomes more attractive to use, what will all you “leet” people move to next?

Linux needs RAD’s tools. This would open doors for Blizzard and other game developers who like RAD’s stuff.
