  • Fixed ambient sound angle attenuation
  • Added preliminary voice over IP support (Linux <-> Linux only)
  • Fixed lots of crash bugs
  • No longer minimize the window when launching a URL in windowed mode
  • NVidia 0.9-769 drivers rock! Definitely upgrade your drivers! :)

All we need now is Tribes2…

I can’t wait to jump on a 50+ server with my Linux buddies.

Well, uh, that’s nice that they released the patch. Now if only the actual *game* were available, we’d have a way to use it! ;-)

Why doesn’t Loki port their linux VoIP protocol over to the windows version and not only gpl it like their other tools, but include it on the win32 version or offer it in a patch format?

That way platform interoperability would be assured, and so would quality, ’cause nobody re-invents shit like Loki does… Did I mention these guys rock?

Windows tribes people then could choose which protocol they were going to use, either the GPL or proprietary version, and then if there was a linux, mac, beos, or other game box that wasn’t windows there would be an alternative to the dreaded “T” command. Just an idea, but hey, I think its a good one.

How long can we expect to wait for Linux versions of future patches? This is a serious issue for an online only game. Will the first Windows patch (which is already out) be part of the shipping verions of Linux Tribes2? Who will maintain the Linux version of Tribes if Loki goes under?

PS – Maybe our one hope is that Linux server admins won’t install server patches until the Linux client patch is completed. What happens if Loki goes out of business though?

when will there be a demo on either win or linux?
