Version 1.2.0 of Sam Lantiga’s cross-platform multimedia library Simple DirectMedia Layer has been released; changes include: - Added OpenGL support as a native 3D API
- Added YUV video display with hardware acceleration
- More complete thread synchronization primitives
- Added support for gamma ramp manipulation
- Much improved alpha blending blit semantics

I had problems with this build… It would puke when I would try to access my zip drive. Zip users beware!!! Just to let ya know… You might as well stick to 2.2.18 its much more reliable in this respect anyway, although some devices I had to build directly into that kernel too because modules would fail to load after the build was run…. Hmmm maybe its the beta compiller in RH 7. Oh well I’m no programmer, I just know it didn’t work well on my system, so be cautious.

kinda obvious but…
you will probably want to make a symbolic link from libSDL-1.2.so.0 to libSDL-1.1.so.0, to get programs to work.
