All Your Broadband Are Belong To Us
January 30th, 2001 by Crusaderid level designer/OpenBSD-admin Xian Antkow updated his.plan file last nightto announce that he’s created a network connectionpoll at theShugashack:
I’ve created a poll on The Shugashack to gauge personal curiosity as tohow wired gamers are out there. While I realize this is hardly accurate, itshould give a good “rough idea”.The gist of it is, I’m trying to see, roughly, how many gamers out therehave a permanent connection to the internet, despite the fact that whichevergame you are playing, doesn’t need a connection to the net.
If you have a moment to spare, please take all of 13.2 seconds to participatein this poll.
Thank you.

So…. according to the poll, the vast majority of gamers have > 1mbps connections. Why do I not believe this?
I guess some kiddie decided to run a script on the poll.
How lame.

It looks to me that id are doing a little research regarding the feasability of including internet based authorisation in Doom 2000©
Server side key authorisation has probably done a fair part in forcing regular online game players to have legal copies of their games, and this is the tip off that they are wanting the same result with their next single player effort©
