Loki has released a networking fix fortheir demoof Descent 3;the fix is available as a patch from:

Patch instructions:
Extract into the descent3_demo directory, i.e.

cd descent3_demo
tar zxvf ../network-fix.tar.gz

Furthermore, a new full package has been released for those who did not download the original build.
