Theocracy @ TuxGames

May 2nd, 2000 by Crusader

Tux Games’ Michael Simms wrote in to announce that the online Linux game retailer is now offering Ubisoft’s real-time strategy game Theocracy, which features warring Aztec tribes. You can pre-order Theocracy from here for $42.00 (US); shipping is expected to begin May 4th. A demo of Theocracy is also available from

The Link to the Demo is dead. The Site does not even resolve.

  2. Crusader Says:

Are you sure? It resolves for me to 193.68.35.131.

    setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH ./
    or export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./

(or add it to LD_LIBRARY_PATh if it already exists)

  4. sigfpe Says:

    I get

X Error of failed request: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)
Major opcode of failed request: 129 (MIT-SHM)
Minor opcode of failed request: 1 (X_ShmAttach)
Serial number of failed request: 21
Current serial number in output stream: 22

Just in case you’re thinking I’m being really stupid here is some of the output from xdpyinfo:

    name of display: :0.0
    version number: 11.0
vendor string: The XFree86 Project, Inc
    vendor release number: 335

    number of extensions: 20

    MIT-SHM

Note I’m (1) running locally and (2) the shared memory extension is there. Any ideas anyone?
