Q3A Compiled .so’s; Q3A SDK Compiling Instructions

March 27th, 2000 by Crusader

The Linux Game Modification Center has posted two items of interest to Quake 3: Arena players:

  • Compiled shared libraries for the game and cgame version 1.16n source are available. These should give a noticable framerate increase over the standard .qvm multiplatform files.
  • Instructions for compiling the 1.16n SDK source (which was released for Win32 only) natively under Linux have been posted; note that this method requires that the source files have already been unpacked from the .exe by a Windows machine or under WINE.
