Having games being made available for Linux alongside Windows counterparts is monumental.

So M$ are closing-up the IBM PC Compatible, Ubuntu (at least) should be focusing on hardware now. There is an opportunity here for a Weakening Strike, but don’t kill the beast.

The good news is that they changed their licence so that distro’s can repackage steam to distribute it themselves.

So now that steam is gone gold for Linux, I fully expect every major distro to get a steam client in its repo very quickly.
