The Hate Combinator

King_DuckZ wrote in to let us know about The Hate Combinator:

A game made in 3 days for FuckThisJam, a game development jam where you had to create a game in a genre you hate. Since I hate puzzle games, here is mine, where you have to destroy hateable stuff (from Hitler to Silvio B) to get points and combos.

Let’s analyse the hate target list: an American southern looking gentleman making a gun gesture with his hand, Benito Mussolini perhaps, Adolf Hitler doing a Hitler salute, a Ku Klux Klansman, a Christian bishop doing a Hitler salute, a revolver, a TV.

Here’s a current story from England at the moment (in England Asian means Pakistani):

Aaron Dugmore, 9, ‘bullied to death for being white’

The devastated family of a nine-year-old boy who hanged himself say he took his life after racist taunts by Asian bullies.

Aaron Dugmore – thought to be one of Britain’s youngest suicides after bullying – was found in his bedroom after months of jibes at school, they claim.

His family say that Aaron was threatened with a plastic knife by one Asian pupil – who warned him: “Next time it will be a real one.”

But despite complaints to the school, where 75 per cent of pupils come from ethnic backgrounds, they claim nothing was done to stop the bullying.

“He said one kid even said to him, ‘My dad says all the white people should be dead‘.”

“I went to see head Martin Collin a few times, but he only said, ‘You didn’t have to come to this school, you chose to come here‘.”

    Full story here.

I agree that the TV is hateful. With its political ideological brainwashing and selective “news” coverage it shapes an alternative reality for you where everything is fine.

Hmm maybe the icons are not obvious to everybody due to cultural background. I think my guess is pretty close to what they were supposed to represent, so here we go:

    – Gentleman making a gun gesture: Silvio Berlusconi (@Thunor: easy mistake http://shekkaballah.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/mussolini-berlusconi.jpg?w=610)
    – Bishop: the Vatican and its internal management
    – TV: trash programs, realities, manipulated news and ads
    – LoL dude: the internet memes

I’m not sure about the dictator-looking dude, might be someone from south america or from africa.

You do realize that is the Sun you are quoting, right? Not saying it did not happen, but with that as your source…

Plus it does nothing to change why the people in the images have become hated anyway.
