uh… isn’t this infringing a couple copyrights? besides I’m not into games with little or no originality.

Well, in that it uses assets from mario, yes, but i think it’s reasonable to think of it as fair use in an interesting and free experimental game, but if nintendo don’t feel this way then i’m sure they’ll come forward with a cease and desist, if you’re concerned about valve, well, they haven’t got a great deal to complain about here.
In short, get over yourself, it’s a fun idea.
