Most recently, I’ve been playing the Diablo 3 beta under Wine. Beyond that, Oil Rush, Trine, Edge and Toki Tori. Sadly, I don’t have as much time for gaming as I’d like at the moment :(
Motorsep, I don’t know if I’m willing to buy Tomes of Mephistopheles just yet based on the alpha videos/information that’s available. Maybe when the game is more developed. I really hope that you’re not taking the number of people interested in actively supporting development as an indication of the number of people who would be willing to pay for this game (it might also help to remember that limited-time events such as the Double Fine Adventure and the Humble Bundle Mojam will have eaten into many Linux gamers’ wallets, leaving less money for something like Tomes of Mephistopheles which will hopefully be available as a completed product in the future).
Your comment also seems a lot like gratuitous advertising (which often annoys people). Why don’t you tell us what you’ve been playing?
Ive been working on a heavy modification of Nehe’s Tutorial 10.
I got an ascii map/text which renders walls floors ceilings/grass etc based on the character.
Also working on an isometric game with flare graphics.
Bought some games on GOG.com, playing baluders gate.
I have a dwarf fortress, with a heavy aquafieer that i cant punch through. It rains Goblin blood every season, but i managed to repel one siege. There are lots of tantrums going on now.
Hey Maquis196, can you keep us up to date on that Mass Effect 3? I tried to dl the demo but didnt get very far because of “Origin”, EA’s new digital software distro(a la steam) It didnt work. My fear is that Mass Effect boxed set will also incorporate Origin just to install it (skyrim was that way and so are a lot of steam games)
Worst case scenario is that ME3 may not even be able to be installed….
I doubt it will work exactly for those reasons. I got Battlefield 3 on disk and that required me to install into origin. I loathe EA with a passion since origin, annoys me that they’ll make money from me but I really need to finish me3 (yes hypocrit I know).
If anything I better get windows installed somewhere, I’ll need it :(
I am currently playing Arcanum via wine, the best rpg game ever. Havent you played it, and like rpg games try it you wont be sorry. Other then that i am tinkering with my guessing game and my tictactoe game made in c++ trying to learn to contribute to open source projects :D
ME3 works perfectly on wine 1.4. Think I’m about half way through it, and you get the occasional slowdown during a cutscene and it’s a bit laggy when you first enter a new area (map loading in background). All in all, perfect. <3 wine
