Doom 3 Source Code Soon
November 2nd, 2011 by Crusaderid Software founder and lead programmer John Carmack updated his .plan fi– err, Twitter account to announce the id Tech 4 engine which powered Doom 3 will be released soon:

Thats good news, now wheres our Linux rage binaries that were kinda promised (but not directly I’m aware).
I promise I’ll buy it then. Until then, im not so sure

Doubt that will happen , from what ive seen rage is living in “Steam” hell

Forget Rage. Won’t run for more than a couple minutes on half the computers out there, and even if it does run, it’s 1/10th the game that Borderlands is. They totally dumped on the PC users with a really really bad console port. It’s truly shameful. $60 can go towards waaaaay better “PC” games.
