Volley Brawl

April 3rd, 2011 by Crusader

OMG! Ubuntu has announced the release of Volley Brawl into the Ubuntu Software Center:

It’s just hit the Software Center for Maverick and Natty, right on time to meet the March 31st release date (unless you live in the USA, where it’s still March 30th – but due to timezones and all that, we can’t please everyone!)

All you have to do is open up the Software Center and navigate to the “For Purchase” section. It’s priced at a comfortable $2.99.

I don’t have an Ubuntu system at present, so I ask you, the community: what games are available there right now? Thanks!

Actually Volley Brawl is not only the first ‘for purchase’ game, but the first ‘for purchase’ software to ever hit the Software Center. Currently there are 507 games available in the center, the other 506 games are coming from the usual repositories. You can find almost all the popular classics, but the majority of them are smaller/simpler 2D games. Even Volley Brawl has at least three other free competitors :).

I should have added that I use 11.04 beta, maybe that’s the reason I don’t see any other for purchase apps.
