Holiday /dev/urandom

December 18th, 2010 by Crusader

I’m on vacation! Yay!

  • A reader pointed out an e-mail he received from Digital Leisure in response to his query about Linux ports of Space Ace and Dragon’s Lair:

    Thanks for your email.

We have forwarded it along to our production and development team. We are always looking for new platforms to port the games to and Ubuntu has been
requested, but it has yet to materialize in to an actual release. Perhaps with more requests like yours, it may make its way on to the platform.

  • The Linux Game Cast brings Quake 1 into 2010 with a HighRes Texture Pack HOWTO vidcast.
  • Summoning Wars, a single- and multi-player RPG project, is at version 0.5.3. Looks neat, haven’t had a chance to try it yet.
  • With today’s release of a sequel to TRON, I think it’s worth re-pointing out the long-running Armagetron Advanced project, where players can compete in light cycles against one another. I’ll see you on the game grid!

But couldn’t you just get the DVD video version of Space Ace and Dragon’s Lair?

  2. themixturemedia Says:

You could but you would need wine to run it would be nice for a native installer for the game.

  3. buggerall Says:

He’s talking about an interactive video DVD, are you planning to run a windows DVD player through wine? Would mplayer or vlc not cope?
