LGP Downtime

October 3rd, 2010 by Crusader

Michael Simms of Linux Game Publishing and TuxGames let me know that the sites have had a second major hardware failure:

Unfortunately this time it is more serious as we had a backup hardware failure at the same time, and the backup system did not warn us of the failure. This then meant that the third tier backup which is absolutely fine, was not feeding from the second tier which had failed also.

I have no idea how long we could be down for, but it is going to take a while to sort out this mess.

Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery!

The sites were ugly anyways. It sucks what happened but lets hope they find time to redesign them.

The latter wiki hasn’t been contributed to for a while, but it’s a nice idea.
