E3 Rage Footage

June 22nd, 2010 by Crusader

I’m so far out of the loop these days that I didn’t even realize E3 was this past week until after the initial conferences, but out of the annual conference comes this new footage from G4 of long-time Linux pal id Software’s latest title, Rage.

Adam Sessler and Kevin Pereira sit down with Tim Willits, Creative Director of id Software, for a hands on demo of the new “open but directed” shooter, Rage with its new combat mechanism, new environment, crazy weapons and more on the new id Tech 5 engine.

Rage is not in until next year… But than, if there will be a port? And if it will happen around same time as game is introduced into gaming consoles and windows?

I finally got time to watch the videos and was hoping for something other than “PC” mentioned like Mac or Linux. I am still sad to hear the Linux port possibility is based on YAFPS (yet another first person shooter) for Linux. I would still rather play Enemy Territory over Q3A through a browser. I know Rage is a FPS but it has RPG elements in it, thus I would not call it YAFPS.
I watched my brother play Borderlands and if there was a Linux version I so would have bought it.
