Game Recording Solution
October 31st, 2009 by CrusaderA reader (thanks vadi!) pointed out this discussion at the Ubuntu forums about a viable game video recording solution for Linux. I remember using yukon a few years back, but it doesn’t seem to be under any sort of development anymore. Any opinions/recommendations?

seconding glc. I recorded nearly all the game vids I made http://www.youtube.com/user/qubodup#g/u
Only problem I recently ran in (after switching to OSS) is OSS support.

Imo. glc does not compete with Yukon when it comes to performance.
Yukon might not be under development, but it works really good.
One of the problems with glc is that it doesn’t seem to copy the OpenGL stream between the OpenGL game window and the X server like Yukon does, but instead use a more “traditional” recording method with capturing frames…
