While I get back up to speed here, what have y’all been up to game-wise?

I’ve been playing lots of ioquake3 bot-matches lately, for some reason… Not sure why, but I just got the itch…
I also tried out Mystic Mine while it was on sale, but it’s not really my kind of game, so I never played it much…
I should go back and finish off World of Goo sometime, too… That’s a really good game, but I stopped playing a while back, probably half way through, and just haven’t gone back to it since… Not sure why, really… I didn’t really get sick of it or anything; I just sort of got sidetracked by other stuff, I guess…
What I really long for is a sequel to Mindrover… That is my all-time favorite Linux game… (Unfortunately, that seems unlikely, given that mindrover.com seems to no longer exist, and cognitoy.com is currently just displaying a simple file index, and no actual web page…) Failing that, I’d love a port of the old Incredible Machines (and Incredible Toons) games… (Yeah, you can probably get the Windoze versions up and running under Wine, but I’d feel dirty buying Windoze games these days, and I doubt I could ever locate my original copies from ages ago…)
Mostly running through all the stuff I bought at the LGP sale. Jets N Guns (awesome!), X2 (pretty good, but not quite what I expected), and Cold War (awesome!). Also been enjoying Hedgewars on occasion…
Playing Sacred, X3, UT2k4, ETQW and just started with Regnum Online. Waiting for QuakeLive and UT3(ha). I have Savage2 but due to their sorry state of the Linux installer I just don’t care to play.
I’ve been “wine-E” lately, Elete Force 1-2, Far-cry, COD1,2,3,4,,, StarWars Republic Commando, MaxPayne1/2, Nedal of honor 1/2… and ETQW can’t seem to fall out of the top 10,, revisited wolfenstien (love that game!), blown away with alien arean, nexuiz, xmoto, warsow, savage2, not sure how many mods and custom levels for prey I’ve done. You think this list is long you should ask my kids what they’ve been diggen on
He lied to us, sinister13! He tricked us! If he would’ve told us the truth, we would’ve told him to shove that red GPL up his tra$$can!
PS: Where’d the regulars go. I’m probably the most staunch supporter of Hurd more than Linux, because look at what Linus Torvalds said in one of his 4Chan.org posts;
I’m pretty well-known for not exactly being a huge fan of the FSF and Richard Stallman, despite the fact that I obviously love the GPLv2 and use it as the license for all my projects that I care about.
The reason has always been that I don’t like single-issue people, nor do I think that people who turn the world into black and white are very nice or ultimately very useful. The fact is, there aren’t just two sides to any issue, there’s almost always a range or responses, and “it depends” is almost always the right answer in any big question. And not being even willing to see the other side makes for bad decisions.
Don’t get me wrong – I love seeing people who are really passionate about what they do, and many people have something they really care about. It’s just that when that becomes something exclusionary, it often gets ugly. It’s not passion for something, it becomes passion against something else.
This is, just to take an example, one of the reasons I try to avoid talking much about Microsoft – I’m very passionate about Linux (obviously), but quite frankly, I really find the whole notion of Linux as being “against Microsoft” to be silly and wrong-headed. Yeah, I might make an occasional tongue-in-cheek joke or two, but does anybody really seriously think that you can put 17+ years of your life and make good decisions based on hate and fear?
That was also why I didn’t (and don’t) like GPLv3 – I think many of the changes weren’t due to being “pro free software”, but more a mindless reaction against things like TiVO, and the whole black-and-white, “good vs evil” mindset.”
I’ve been playing Sacred Gold for the last month or so (used to play the Windows version when it came up years ago, but I’m GNU/Linux for about 3 years now and don’t use windows at home at all, so I happily used the LGP sells day to buy sacred , knight and merchants and Cold War, and didn’t forgot to buy Prey at Tuxgames at a great price).
So yeah Sacred for now, but I also played Prey , Knights and RTCW before I got to Sacred … great games.
BTW I do somewhat agree with Linus on his post above.
RMS is a hard person to talk to and he seems most things in black and white, good vs evil ….
And don’t get me wrong, RMS did a LOT to FREE AND OPEN source community and software as we see it today, he is a great person in that aspect and we really owe to him a lot.
I mostly play Urban Terror, although I’ve been mixing that up with some “Cold War” and “Sacred: Gold”. I still haven’t unwrapped “X3: Reunion” from the LGP fire sale but it will see some action soon.

Working on Monster 2. Version 1.0 is almost ready, and a few months after that there should be a 1.1 with a nice graphics update.

Playing savage 2… played x3 a bit I bought.
Also waiting on the linux client of the private-beta of: http://heroesofnewerth.com/ which is due out in several days. I’m under NDA, but here is a video they posted: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1114479015472&ref=mf

Been playing Prey most the time. I am waiting for some of the new mods for ETQW to be released and I will switch to that.

I’m currently not playing much, but when I’m on it, it’s mostly LGP stuff. Sacred is really nice and I’m also enjoying Cold War.

I’ve been trolling Slashdot with a GNU picture I made all by myself.

Do anyone suppose Zakkary would like this one for his Timedoctor collection?
