World of Goo Released!
February 13th, 2009 by soultakerThanks to the many readers who let us know that 2D Boy has released World of Goo for Linux, the acclaimed puzzle/construction game featuring hundreds of Goo Balls.
The game was previously available for Windows, Mac OS X and Wii, and was very well received (for example, IGN called it Best Puzzle Game for PC as well as Wii Game of the Year 2008).
The full game costs $20, but the first chapter is available for free as a demo, so you may want to check that out first.

Frickin’ rules!
Beware the silence on the ‘net as a ton of Linux users fall into the terrible addictive Goo universe.
And this port does appear to be identical to the Windows version – if anything it is smoother and faster on my Linux box than my wife’s Windows laptop, but then again, my Linux box is packing a GeForce 6800GT which is something of an unfair advantage… :-)

just tried the demo and it runs freaking smoothly on my openSuse 10.2 box. DLed the RPM, installed, worked like a charm. Way to go.
