Yo Frankie!

September 10th, 2008 by ideasman42

The Apricot project’s open-source game, being developed using Blender, Crystal Space, and Python, has acquired a name since the last time we mentioned it: Yo Frankie!. Additionally, Linux test packages and a video preview were posted recently.

The game should be released by the end of this month, and you can pre-order the DVD from the Blender site.

Very intresting project. Hopefully both the blender and crystal space project will learn alot from the project. And we can enjoy yet another quite cool looking game for linux. Winn Winn situation :)

Pre-ordered the game yesterday. I can’t wait to get my hands on what looks like a teeerriiiiific game! I hope there’s more good stuff coming from Blender Institute (after a hilarious Big Buck Bunny movie and this one).

Very nice. I recommend watching the video preview.

What sort of hardware are we expected to have to be able to run this? I don’t have an up-to-date computer.

    Ok, thanks.
