Playdeb Beta Soon

August 21st, 2008 by vadi4

Thanks to vadi4 for pointing out that the Playbuntu project is now known as Playdeb; moreover, the game-oriented depository from GetDeb for the Ubuntu Linux distribution will start public testing soon:

The good news is that a beta for the Playdeb repository will be starting on September 1st! Everyone will be welcome to participate in the beta, so you don’t have to wait long until Playdeb is available.

Please keep in mind that Playdeb is not another version of Ubuntu, but an “add-on” (a repository of software that you add) to your existing Ubuntu installation.

Additionally, we are still looking for mirrors – the basic requirements are 20gb space, rsync client, and a web server. If you’re interested in helping us out, please contact me at (vadim.peretokin@getdeb.net). Thank you!

Would be nice if someone made Deb files of Savage 1. Or would that not be legal to distribute on from a site like this one? GetDeb?

  2. vadi4 Says:

Probably can, since we’ll be doing an S2 .deb… but the issue is that there are several modifications of the game now. Which one to make a .deb of?

If you decide, follow this guide.

  3. Andre4s Says:

Several modifications? Why not add both? Or all in one if that is possible.

  4. vadi4 Says:

We don’t have unlimited resources, so it’s preferable to just use one that’s the most popular.
