Eschalon on Greenhouse

August 11th, 2008 by Crusader

Eschalon: Book I, a role-playing game from Basilisk Games, can now be purchased via the Greenhouse game distribution platform:

Greenhouse is committed to bringing independent developers and gamers together. As part of our mission, we are looking far and wide for new games for you to discover. To start, our goal is to bring something special to you once a month. While not all games will support every operating system, we certainly will pay special attention to those that do and we are happy to report that Eschalon indeed supports Windows, Mac and Linux.

homerj pointed out that Eschalon is also now being offered at a cheaper price point, $19.95.

Greenhouse is also the home of the Penny Arcade game On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.

    Thanks a lot for this news, otherwise I would probably never heard about this great title!

    It’s one of the best RPG games I ever played. I purchased it last Thursday and already spent about 30 hours of gameplay.

    Can’t wait for Book II.

    what do I do about this?

    $ ./eschalon_book_1_demo
    ./eschalon_book_1_demo: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `GLIBCPP_3.2′ not found (required by ./eschalon_book_1_demo)

    Andre4s:

    Depending on your distribution, you most likely have to install some packages called libstdc++5 or similar. Try searching your package manager for these packages (if you not already fixed it by yourself).

    I made a link to libstc++6 witch I have installed. But that did not work. I will try install version 5.
