Blender 2.46

May 20th, 2008 by Crusader

Speaking of Blender, the 3D graphics creation suite is now at version 2.46 (thanks ohsix), adding hair rendering, physics caching, skinning improvements, new game engine features, a particle system rewrite, and more. There’s a guide to using Blender here, as well as a user gallery.

What is not mentioned on most sites is, that 2.46 also now supports officially the 3D-input devices from 3dconnexion. This really is great, since with one hand you do the navigation, some keys and selection, and with the mouse you do the modelling. The cheapest 3D mouse (the spacenav) they offer is about 60€, and it’s really great.
