It may seem to be sad these days with linux gaming, but I'm not sure that's the case(in response to hylkor). Besides these guys asking for signature's(which is sad), I see linux clients for all the major non-MS game releases. Just so these game developers know where one gamer stands(me)- here it is.

I only buy LINUX games. My coworkers/friends pirate windows games- unless it's an online crackfest. I don't ask for games to be ported to Linux anymore. I don't care. If you want to make money you will do it. If you want it to be pirated with half the life-span, you will release it windows only.

Running with scissors hasn't stayed in business this whole time because of windows users. Sick but true. I've bought 4 of their games, and some of them twice(when I lost it them).

And the before mentioned windows pirating thing isn't meant to offend. It's meant to be the truth. It's not because windows only people are amoral spineless witless morons, it's more that they are moocow life-sucking loser slobs- and you just fed them your game.

So, I'm not going to tell these people to try to make money. If they release a good game for linux, I'll buy two of them. If they don't, no worries. My advice to vote for my game people up there^. Release it and publicize that it is actually really for sale and that it is Linux native. The rules of the world still apply. If nobody knows about your game, it's not gonna sell. You want to sell it off a yahoo business server, nobody's gonna know it exists. It's not hard to figure this out. The people are there. It's your responsibility to reach them. And posting a note on a blog doesn't count.

Is it just me or have gaming for Linux been a even more sad storry then before lately?
I don't think that's the case. It's more that the Linux community can make a great fuzz from a relatively small group. Alot of users sign the petition for the port of a game, but they won't actually buy it. I think now companies start to realize that.
