Penumbra: Black Plague Demo
April 21st, 2008 by CrusaderFrictional Games has released a Linux demo for their adventure horror game Penumbra: Black Plague:
…the demo includes the four first levels of the game, giving gamers an opportunity to get familiar with the unique physical interaction and the horrifying atmosphere, hopefully without completely stripping players of their sanity…
There’s also an updated demo for the previous game in the series, Penumbra: Overture, which has a few bugfixes. The full version of Penumbra: Black Plague should be available to purchase online soon.

I had it segfault on me as well in Kubuntu. To get around it, I ran the installer in a bash session outside of X/KDE. It wasn’t as nice to run, but at least it ran there.

It runs here, launching an installer utility I haven’t seen before though – http://nixstaller.berlios.de/
