GemRB 0.3.0

GemRB version 0.3.0 has been announced; the project is an open source clone of BioWare’s Infinity Engine, which was used in many classic computer role-playing games. New features include:

  • TLK override handling (custom biographies and map notes)
  • weapon immunities
  • party AI
  • expansion playmode
  • more actions, triggers and effects
  • loading of projectile explosion animations
  • kit information window
  • improved sound (now perfect!), character generation, opcodes, character record window, pathfinding, tooltip delay and lotsa bugfixes

It’s also noted that while there’s still a bit of missing functionality, Baldur’s Gate 2 in particular is playable. As for myself, I’m interested in finally being able to give Planescape: Torment a spin, having owned it without taking it out of the CD case for several years now :(

    If you can make the games run, it’d be cool if you provided screens and or video material =) GemRB’s wiki collects both of these
